Making a History; After 92 years Railway Budget Merged with Union Budget;
Since 92 years it was like a tradition for India to announce Rail Budget before 2 days of Union budget announcement. The Rail Budget will be Merged with Union Budget as said by Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley that "Top Priority" after the cabinet given it's approval. From the next coming year the rail budget will be announced with common union budget.
Mr. Jaitley also said that the government is in favour of advancing of budget system & the representation process. also he added "All proposals regarding the Railway Budget will be part of general budget, which will have a separate discussion on railway expenditure," the finance minister said today, but emphasised that "the functional autonomy of the Railways will be maintained."
The merger will relief Indian Railway finance system & the finance operations will be directly operated by the Finance Ministry as other departments.
This will also help Rail for the burden of 44,000 crore on account of implementation of 7th pay commission & 33,000 crore for passenger subsidies. Also it will get help for the 4.83 lakh crore towards the 458 unfinished & ongoing projects.
As Finance minister stated budget for the upcoming year will be presented on 1st of February, which is 25 days earlier.
It is a historic step taken by current Government, By the merger of Rail Budget with Union Budget. Which will enforce the Railway development to a next level;
