Rajinikanth to rake in Rs 100 cr. in 3 days. The much awaited Rajinikanth starrer 'Kabali', which released on Friday, is expected to garner over Rs. 100 crore in the first three days. According to trade estimates, the movie has garnered about Rs. 30 crore on the first day of its release in India. Blue Ocean Film and Television Arts (BOFTA), Chennai, said the movie has garnered about Rs. 15-20 crore overseas, including $1.5 million in the US alone. N Chandramouli, CEO of TRA Research, which tracks the entertainment industry, said, "Despite the movie getting poor reviews from a section of the media and others, the film will easily generate Rs. 200 crore in collection over the next week." G Dhananjayan, a film producer and founder of BOFTA, said that though the maximum price of a ticket in Tamil Nadu fixed at Rs. 120, the first day shows would have gone for an average of Rs. 200 a ticket. Here's what the critics are saying about Kabali, starring Rajinikanth, Winston Chao, Radhika Apte, Dhansika, Dinesh Ravi, Kishore, Kalaiyarasan, John Vijay, Riythvika and Rosyam Nor: Hindustan Times Like every other revenge drama, there are revenge kills and fast-paced scenes that keep you on edge. But just as things start getting wild, an emotional drama starts and puts you in sleep mode. This start-stop nature of the film will be criticised and analysed in days to come. But, where the plot stutters, the subtle mannerisms become the strength of the film – deft hand movements, a sarcastic smile on the corner of the lip and close-ups of Rajinikanth where the raw actor in him comes out, reminiscent of his past character roles. And that is why Kabali will be talked about, for Rajinikanth’s emotions. If you liked him in films such as Aarilirundu Arupadhu Varai or Thalapathi, then you will love him in Kabali. Crazy things Rajinikanth fans have done to celebrate Kabali’s release;

Image
The highly anticipated  Kabali  , starring none other than superstar  Rajinikanth  finally hit the theaters today and while fans have been going crazy celebrating seeing their idol on the screen today all across the country, they have also kept the  Kabali fever  riding high in the weeks leading up to the film's release.  It's a known fact that Tamil actor  Rajinikanth  has an almost cult following of fans- who are not only loyal to him and his movies, but also worship him as their god.  Evidence of his popularity can be seen right from  companies based in Bengaluru and Tamil Nadu declaring a holiday  on Friday so that their employees can enjoy the movie first day first show to bulk bookings for the movie by corporate and employees faking illness to go watch  Kabali .  And, then there's the fact that Kabali's first day first show was at 4 am and not the usual 8 am. Such was the impatience of the fans. Again, this only happens in a Rajinikanth movie, no doubt.  Keep

Believe it or not, Rajinikanth’s Kabali has already earned Rs 200 crores even before its release;

Image
Photo: Google Images It happens only when superstar Rajinikanth has a film release. Several companies in Chennai and Bengaluru have declared holidays on July 22, the day ‘thalaiva’s’ Kabali is releasing. This, after news started trickling in early Monday that employees from various companies were planning to go on mass sick leave (or simply switch off their phones) to catch the first day first show of their favourite star’s film. Companies that have issued notices to that effect include Bangalore-based Opus Waterproofing and Chennai-based Fyndus India Pvt Ltd. Some have even volunteered to provide free tickets in a bid to contain piracy. Speaking to HT, Manoj Pushparaj of Opus Waterproofing said, “This was an internal company circulation which was sent out on Sunday. I could feel the eagerness in my employees, so instead of dealing with mass bunks and mobile switch offs, I came up with the idea of declaring a holiday on July 22 and be a part of the celebration. It would als

'KABALI' is Fighting with online Piracy

Image
In an attempt to counter online piracy,  Kabali  producer Kalaipuli S. Thanu has approached the High Court a week before the release of the superstar film, to direct internet service providers to block access to websites that indulge in piracy. Internet service providers (ISPs) had drastically improved the technology in this particular field mainly to facilitate online piracy, charged the petitioner. This enabled a user to download a film like  Kabali  — which had cost Rs. 100 crore to make and employed over 3,500 people — within just eight minutes and by spending Rs. 20 from illegal websites. Justifying his contention, counsel for the producer Vijay Narayan said, “There are 160 ISPs licensed in India and approximately 70 per cent of their revenue comes from such illegal downloads that are done in complete violation of the terms and conditions of their licence.” For obvious reasons, the government is turning a blind eye to this, since it is earning huge amounts of money
