This Pakistani ad for Ramzan in Pakistan will melt your heart !!

Image
With its “ daag ache hain ” tag line, detergent brand Surf Excel has come up with some pretty cute ads over the past few years. But a recent one it unveiled, to time with Ramzan celebrations in Pakistan, takes the cake. Or should we say, the  jalebis and  samosas . The ad depicts a little boy being dressed in a spotless new kurta  for the festival and running out to meet his friends. He then spots an old sweet vendor whose cart is stuck in a rut, and is unable to sell his wares to those out for the  iftaar . Our young lad promptly scoops up some  samosas  in his  kurta and rushes into the marketplace, to sell them. His friends join in too, bringing along the  jalebis  while the grateful  chacha looks on. Of course, their  kurtas  are greasy and spotted by the time the boys are done and they’re worried about it, until the boy's mother, who has seen it all, reassures them that “ daag acche hain ”, especially when you got them doing a good deed or lending a helping hand.

Majority of online users are swearing by Facebook, YouTube and Twitter for news !

Social media has emerged as a leading source of news among online users who increasingly access it on their  smartphones  , a thinktank said on Wednesday, warning that the embrace of free news was becoming a challenge for publishers of quality news.  More than half of online users get their news from  Facebook  and other  social media  platforms, refusing to pay for news and using ad-blocking, which hurts publishers' revenue, the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism (RISJ) said.  But although free news distributed through social platforms creates an opportunity to reach more readers, it also makes it more difficult for publishers to get recognised and connect with their audience, the RISJ said in its annual Digital News Report.  "These things are happening because of us," Rasmus Kleis Nielsen, Reuters Institute director of research, told the Thomson Reuters Foundation in a phone interview.  "We prefer news in the digital form because it's convenient

Among the hordes of developers who attended Apple's annual  World Wide Developer's Conference (WWDC  ) this year in  San Francisco  , nine-year old Indian-origin  Anvitha Vijay  held the distinction of being the youngest.  The  Melbourne  resident, who taught herself to code at the age of seven, already has two apps to her credit and intends to develop more.  Vijay spent a year watching free coding tutorials on  YouTube  and the web, and learned how to program. "Coding was so challenging. But I'm so glad I stuck with it," she said.  She attended WWDC after being selected for  Apple's  scholarship program, which gives hundreds of free tickets to developers from around the world who are creating apps for Apple devices.  Vijay had dreamt of meeting Apple's CEO  Tim Cook  and not only was she able to make that a reality at the WWDC but also managed to get a shoutout from Cook himself.  In the first few minutes of the show, an impressed  Tim Cook  pointed t
